Community First

Our mission is always to make life more fun. Looking at this goal through another lens, we are always searching for more opportunities to enrich our local and global communities, enriching our own spirit along the way. We hope you will join our effort.

The Toy Movement

All children should be able to enjoy the feeling of fun and reap the extensive benefits of play.

However, in many areas of the world this is simply not their reality. Changing this is the central purpose of The Toy Movement, a global initiative led by Spin Master since 2014. All over the world children are caught in situations that deny them joy: natural disaster, poverty, war and conflict, or other difficult circumstances. To ensure these children are provided opportunities to play, learn, and grow regardless of their conditions, Spin Master has brought together partners from our industry and beyond to provide toys and school supplies in an effort to let kids just be kids. As of early 2018, we have delivered over 350,000 toys to children in Mexico, Nicaragua, South Africa, Jordan, Israel and Gaza, Syrian refugee camps throughout Turkey, and the Gawilan refugee camp in northern Iraq. To continue the movement and to spread joy to children worldwide, Spin Master will be partnering in 2018 with Save the Children to provide 500,000 African and Rohingya children with classic board games and GUND teddy bears.

We invite you to watch this inspiring short documentary about our first Toy Movement trip to Jordan.

Community Involvement

In addition to Spin Master-led initiatives, we also regularly provide free toys and donations to dozens of select local charities and fund-raising programs in each of the more than twenty regions of the world in which we operate.

Philanthropy Day

To further encourage our team to become involved and lend their voluntary support to programs that will impact our communities at home, at work, and around the world, Spin Master Team Members are provided a paid day off every calendar year to volunteer at whatever charity or non-profit is close to their heart.

“It’s not surprising to find this [Philanthropy Day] program here as Spin Master is always so giving. It fits right into our culture.”

Our global offices, acting locally

Toronto, Canada

Caring & Sharing

Every holiday season since 2011, we have closed our Toronto office for half a day to spread some joy. Our entire team provides over 1,000 children of limited means with a formal banquet lunch, free toy “shopping” for themselves and a friend, as well as a very memorable day of play with hundreds of toys and amusements, a live DJ and other special guests.

Toronto Fire Fighters’ Toy Drive

Since 2014, we have proudly sponsored the Toronto Firefighters’ annual Toy Drive, providing funding, toys, and volunteers to help bring holiday cheer to those in need.

Futurpreneur Canada

Each year Toronto Spin Master team members partner with Futurpreneur Canada to help dozens of fledgling entrepreneurs turn their innovative ideas and budding companies into thriving endeavors. In addition to providing much needed funding from the Spin Master Innovation Fund, we also provide mentorship. Our one-on-one program is instrumental in building confidence, expanding networks, and gaining insight, and learning from Spin Master team members who can share their experience across many diverse business functions including HR, Sales, Marketing, Finance and Operations.

When Spin Master relocated our Toronto office in 2016, we donated our old furniture and building fixtures to several local fledgling businesses, remembering the struggle of our own early days.

“The most magical toys are the action figures and the stuffed animals. Those are the kids’ confidants – the ones they take to bed at night, tell their secrets to, let their imaginations run wild with. In troubled areas of the world, they can make a massive difference.”
