Job Description:

The role:

Reporting directly to the EVP, Entertainment, the VP Franchise Development will:

  • Create and manage innovative plans that maximize Spin Master IP/content, particularly existing or future franchises, across the company and help ensure long-term success of the brands, and ultimately drive revenue and long-term
  • Core responsibilities include franchise strategy and development, brand stewardship, communication, and collaboration to drive achieve franchise growth objectives
  • Accountable for generating awareness. Intersection with licensing out, content sales & distribution and external broadcast partners
  • Take leadership role in franchise strategic positioning and direction; Workhand-in-hand with business unit and marketing leads to gain alignment.
  • Develop and manage budgets, prioritization, and resources to support the development and execution of franchise and marketing plans
  • Analyze and track consumer relationship with franchises
  • Act as brand champion and “chief correspondent” for internal and external support needs.
  • Build/oversee marketing campaigns to drive to content on multiple platforms and build audiences) from pre-launch through life-cycle) to support overall franchise.  
  • Act as lead in coordinating early discussions/brainstorms with cross functional teams to tap into potential concepts and vision that could be applied to content, consumer products, spin offs etc.
  • Update and direct internal divisions and external partners on brand vision, ideation and growth strategy. Maintain alignment with overall marketing position.

You should apply if you have the following:

  • 10+ years of brand management background with extensive experience in building brands/franchises
  • 5+ years experience in extending media beyond traditional distribution
  • Experience in marketing, presentations, and communication
  • Experience in the children’s entertainment business, particularly in the area of launching and building new IP, consumer products/product lines and/or other successful kid-related business
  • Strong strategic planning skills; can craft and lead with brand vision
  • Expertise of strategy development, marketing principles and brand management
  • Creative collaborator and skilled facilitator 
  • Possesses sensitivity and savviness to key stakeholder relationships; excellent people skills
  • Excellent organizational skills 
  • Effective follow-through skills 
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
