The Job:

Reporting to the Translation Manager, the Translation Coordinator is the contact person between 3rd party language vendors and Spin Master Visual Branding Department.

The role involves coordinating translation and proofreading tasks efficiently to ensure delivery of timely and quality translations to Graphic teams based out of Toronto, Los Angeles, Dongguan, Virginia Beach and Long Island City.

The Translation Coordinator also provides regular translation and proofreading support in their working languages.

What we can expect from you:

  • Outsource assigned projects in up to 21 languages to 3rd party vendors preparing instructions, working files and detailed reference material.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding project status, queries and other issues.
  • Check project completeness and adherence to directions prior to delivery.
  • File and archive all translation-related materials.
  • Complete translation of urgent jobs from English into French (and other languages, skills permitting) using translation memory tools for packaging, instruction sheets, E-commerce and other special projects.
  • Identify and correct DTP errors on artwork using Adobe Acrobat commenting tools.
  • Monitor and track translation-related amends requested by international offices for translation memory update purposes.
  • Act as resource person for linguistic queries in the department.

You should apply if you have the following:

  • Degree with specialization in languages
  • Spelling and grammar skills in the French language is a must
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Knowledge of another language amongst German, Dutch, Italian, Portuguese, Czech, Slovak, Hungarian, Romanian, Croatian, Bulgarian, Slovenian a definite asset
  • Experience working in creative environment or translation agency setting
  • Strong knowledge of MS office applications and familiarity with SDL Studio CAT tool
