The Job:

The US Demand Planning Team Lead is responsible for all aspects related to the US Region Demand Plan along with direct line reporting of the US Demand Planners.                                                         

The Team Lead Role requires strong analytical, & interpretive and team building skills. The position requires an individual who has an excellent understanding of Demand Planning best practices. The Team Lead is also expected to have a solid understanding of forecasting processes and lead & facilitate S&OP Brand and Retail reviews. It also entails working and communicating with multiple internal stake holders as well as with external retailers.

What we can expect from you:

  • Provide daily guidance, support and direction to the US Demand Planning team of 5-6 Demand Planners
  • Help to identify team objectives and goals; track individual and team overall performance; carry out Company performance reviews
  • Provide back up support & coverage for US Demand Team during absences          
  • Initiate and develop strong relationships with cross functional partners in order to build intimate knowledge of the business and be seen as a trusted advisor and partner to both Brand and US Retail Teams
  • Facilitate Demand Pre-Consensus with Brand and Retail to deliver an unbiased and unconstrained view of the demand to feed operational planning and the Global S&OP Process
  • Help to identify and frame up brand/retailer risks & opportunities and any critical business messaging to pass up through the S&OP process to ensure timely & savvy decision making
  • Proactively leverage Region / Brand POS & inventory to minimize internal supply chain liabilities through short term order timing and/or quantity and longer term forecast changes
  • Represent the US Region for all facets of the S&OP / Supply Chain processes & meetings
  • Weekly Pacing, Integrated Marketing Reviews, CS Line Fill Reviews, Monthly Integration
  • Provide Weekly / Monthly Region Analysis Reporting; Market Share, Demand Consensus, Region POS
  • Evaluate and measure Regional Forecast Accuracy and Bias results against objectives/plan
  • Provide monthly root cause analysis, along with correction action plan to drive continuous improvement
  • Lead / Facilitate department and forecasting process changes; drive continuous improvement initiative across region and global Demand Planning and across linked Supply Chain functions
  • Work closely with other Region Leads to ensure consistency across Demand Planning in the development and improvement of systems, processes and procedures
  • Take ownership and lead special assignments as directed by Sr. Manager Demand Planning or Global Director Demand Planning & Market Analytics
  • Back up to Sr. Manager Demand Planning as required

Job Requirements

You should apply if you have the following:

  • Undergraduate Degree - business, supply chain, finance background
  • APICS, IBF Certification
  • Functional/Technical Expertise [statistical /forecasting/planning systems]
  • +5 years related experience in Demand Planning / Sales Planning / Finance
  • Proficient in MS Office tools-Advanced Excel Skills; SAP/APO/BI, MS Project, Business Objects.
