The Job:

The Supervising Producer, Entertainment is a proactive, pragmatic, and real-time problem-solver, responsible for the day-to-day oversight of multiple animated television series, specials, and short-form Brand First Content.  Responsible for budgeting, scheduling and managing all phases of production from script through to delivery so as to ensure that all productions are produced and delivered at the highest level of quality while remaining within budgeted parameters. A strong leader with exceptional communication skills, the Supervising Producer will inspire and motivate production and creative teams to achieve success by fostering a collegial and collaborative environment. 

What we can expect from you:

  • To establish and manage production plans including schedules, budgets, cost reports, assumptions, and deliverables in close collaboration with the Vice President of Production and Vice President Current Series, Entertainment so as to facilitate delivery of excellence on creative visions.
  • Assessment of day-to-day project requirements and ensure projects remain on time and on budget, while maintaining standards of quality.
  • Proactively troubleshoot and seek out pragmatic solutions that ensure project milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Inspire, motivate, and maximize communication and collaboration amongst production and creative teams and third-party partners.
  • Management of client relationships.
  • Working with SME’s Legal, Business Affairs, and Finance teams to negotiate terms of service for third party partners and service providers.
  • Working across the SME Team on strategic process improvements and management to ensure that systems work efficiently, productively, and to everyone’s satisfaction.

You should apply if you have the following:

  • Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in a Producer role for animated series productions, including three (3) or more years in a management/supervisory capacity.
  • In-depth knowledge of 2D and 3D animation pipelines, including pre-production and post-production.
  • In-depth knowledge of animation budgeting, scheduling and scenario planning.
  • A proven track record of managing production budgets over $10M CDN, preferably in a multi-production environment.
  • Experience working with third-party production partners and overseas production facilities.
  • A solid understanding of CANCON rules, regulations, and tax credit requirements.
