The Role:

  • Critical to the management and continued growth of revenue derived from the Spin Master owned and controlled television and film rights. 
  • Will work in close collaboration with Entertainment’s VP Operations & Legal, Senior Director Finance & Business Development
  • Requires travel to various industry markets, including KidScreen, MipJr and MipCom
  • You'll be reporting into the VP Operations & Legal, Entertainment

 What we can expect from you:

  • The creation and review of short, medium and long term strategies for optimizing the revenue potential of Spin Master content.
  • Providing guidance to the EVP Entertainment & EVP Licensing regarding potential sales and make recommendations, as appropriate, including whether or not to use sales agent(s), distributor(s) and/or sub-distributor(s) in certain territories.
  • Overseeing all aspects of the distribution business, including preparing financial projections for project specific revenue performance and overseeing the creation and delivery of all deliverables to content buyers, all on a timely basis.
  • Understanding and communicating key trends relating to the acquisition of content from traditional broadcasters and emerging platforms. Reviewing all trade publication information including blogs so as to stay current with developments relevant to our sector that enable the prospecting of new potential clients.
  • Participating in internal discussions regarding each property’s viability and desirability, including preparing revenue projections and what talent might be best to attach to maximize revenues, and, between Entertainment and the General Business Units to ensure collaboration to achieve overall corporate entertainment goals.

Job Requirements

You should apply if you're:

  • An experienced distribution executive with in-depth sales experience in the domestic and international television markets, preferably for animated children’s content.
  • A highly driven professional with a proven track record of successfully selling audio-visual projects worldwide to various platforms.
  • A highly motivated and organized self-starter. Expertise in children’s animation is an asset.
  • A demonstrated skill in building and maintaining strong client relationships worldwide.
  • A strong and confident ability to think both strategically and unconventionally and not be constrained by traditional ways of thinking and doing.
  • Willing to travel as needed.
  • A College or University graduate.
  • Equipped with managerial and leadership experience.
