The Job:

The Sourcing Business Analyst is a key member of the Sourcing team and reports to the Senior Director, Global Indirect Sourcing. In this role, the Sourcing Business Analyst is responsible for using data, statistical and analytical tools to generate direct and indirect supplier spend reports, raw materials trend reports, productivity / savings calculations and analysis, dashboards and KPIs in support of the Sourcing team and identification of sourcing opportunities. The Sourcing Business Analyst will continuously look for ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the tools and reports utilized by the Sourcing team, to support the business strategy and goals.

What we can expect from you:

Supplier Spend Analysis and Reporting

  • Scope include Spin Master’s global supplier spends including direct and indirect suppliers
  • Act as the subject matter expert for all supplier spend analysis and reporting including the process and tools
  • Collect, cleanse, normalize, categorize and cross-reference large files of raw spend data, originating from multiple sources including SAP, to use in analysis, auditing and reporting
  • Own and manage the historical spend database ensuring quality, accuracy, completeness and the availability of data
  • Generate the supplier spend report including data-driven insights and recommendations
  • Research and analyze material costs and labour cost analysis; rate analysis; and trending reports
  • Support the identification of cost-saving opportunities through data analysis


Departmental Reporting

  • Develop and produce analysis and reporting for productivity / cost savings calculations, departmental dashboards, KPIs, targets / goals, efficiency and effectiveness measures, and other metrics
  • Take ownership for the generation and maintenance of the Productivity Tracker and Project Tracker, and ensure they are up-to-date, accurate and distributed appropriately

Job Requirements

Analytical Support

  • Provide general analytical support to the Sourcing team including:
  • Conduct a supplier risk assessments including financials, business health, geographic, dependency, compliance and reputational
  • Market analysis – perform market analysis comparing spend trends with published indices to identify opportunities
  • Total cost of ownership analysis – in support of an RFx, calculate the total supplier costs including capex / opex; startup / ongoing; fixed vs. variable over the analysis period (e.g., three years, five years)
  • Other data driven / reporting projects and presentations as directed by Sr. Director and SVP, Operations & Sourcing

You should apply if you have the following:

  • 4+ years of data analysis and mining experience with a strong preference working with supplier / sourcing data
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, commerce or accounting
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP
  • Good knowledge of the Procure-to-Pay Process
  • Expert proficiency working in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in developing presentations / decks to aid in communication and decision-making
  • Very detail-oriented
