Job Description:

The Sr. Logistics Specialist is an operational role that support the transportation and/or distribution flow of inventory to customer through 3PL distribution partners, inventory moves across DC’s and global inventory movements from factories to domestic DC’s in North America.  The Specialist will be assigned a specific area of focus whether it’s transportation or distribution and will work with assigned distribution or transportation partners to achieve defined service level goals and metrics.  Role includes day to day transactional activities, inventory reconciliation, transportation solutions management and various projects.  The ability to work independently and at time in ambiguous situations will be key strengths.

What we can expect from you:

  • Knowledge of outsourced supplier management principles.
  • Ability to use Key Performance Indicators to drive results.
  • Fundamental knowledge of key warehousing and inventory management practices.
  • Knowledge of transportation appointment, shipment and arrival practices.
  • Ability to work effectively or have working knowledge of an ERP (preferably SAP), EDI and WMS.
  • Ability to proactively support external parties i.e. freight forwarders & 3PLs through an improvement plan with respect to operational functions. Participating and actively to develop a corrective action plan through monthly & quarterly metrics reports/scorecards.
  • Strong communication skills including effective written, email, and spoken. Including the ability to lead and influence meetings through conference call or Skype with working partners locally or globally in various time zones.
  • Knowledge of inventory management, inventory Reconciliation, DC operations management and transportation payables.

Who’s a good fit for this team:

  • CPG, Manufacturing or Toy Industry experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel and SAP
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented with emphasis on following up in a fast paced environment.
  • Interpersonal communication skills, relationship management, and collaboration skills is a must. Ability to influence others through demonstrated expertise.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Can effectively work with various levels of an organization.
  • Strong ability to work independently to meet all deliverables.

 You should apply if you have the following:

  • BS/BA or equivalent experience.
  • 3 – 5 years of Supply Chain experience in transportation, distribution or customer supply chain.
