Job Description:

The Role:

The Senior Manager, Customer Demand Planning is responsible for leading a team of customer demand planners to build and manage the demand forecast (short term and long term) while delivering strong forecast accuracy and demand control.

Working closely with Finance, Customers/Retailers, Sales, Supply, and the Brand Demand Planning team, this role is accountable for ensuring best-in-class levels of Customer service, optimized levels of inventory, and delivery of products on time, in-full and minimizing non-quality costs. The role oversees rigorous analysis on forecast performance and works with the Sales team to drive initiatives that will enable the business to efficiently deliver on customer demand, drive efficiency in the supply chain and enable optimum on-shelf availability.

This role steers the demand planning function at the Customer level and partners with Sales Heads to drive Improvement in Demand planning and is jointly responsible with the EVP Sales and Brand Planning Manager for Forecast Accuracy and Bias. The Senior Manager should have a solid understanding of forecasting processes and co-lead and facilitate Demand Consensus reviews. It also entails working and communicating with multiple internal stakeholders as well as with external customers/retailers.

This role reports to the Demand Planning Director and is part of the Global Operations Team.

What you can expect from you:

Lead Customer Demand Planning Team

  • Create annual team Business Objectives and goals
  • Track and measure individual and team overall performance and conduct annual talent reviews for succession planning and career-pathing
  • Mentor and coach team members utilizing Situational Leadership best practices
  • Support and enable individual Development Plan objectives
  • Drive and create space for team engagement
  • Support the building of an effective and high-performing team across the team with a mix of high-professionals and high-potentials

Drive Best-in-Class Customer Service

  • Co-lead and facilitate Demand Consensus (Step 2) to deliver an unbiased and unconstrained view of the demand to support operational planning and the Global S&OP Process
  • Driving a rolling 18-month forecast at the Customer Level
  • Oversee day-to-day activities of the Customer Demand Planning Team
  • Initiate and develop strong relationships with cross functional partners in order to build intimate knowledge of the business and be viewed as a trusted, credible advisor to Sales Heads
  • Act as a change agent/leader; leveraging relationships, functional skills and understanding process to support S&OP to facilitate change and drive sustainable process and business improvements
  • Responsibility for month-end demand related reporting, inputs into S&OP process and monthly OPEX meeting
  • Participate and actively contribute to all facets of the S&OP/Supply Chain processes and meetings; this includes, weekly Supply Reviews, Integrated Marketing Reviews, Customer Service Reviews, etc.
  • Oversee analysis of weekly retail sales results (POS)
  • Oversee demand planners to minimize high inventory and in stock issues at the Customer level
  • Lead forecasting process changes & continuous improvement initiatives with demand planning and cross functional teams
  • Support Process excellence team in driving systems and processes to increase efficiency through scalable solutions that improve forecast accuracy and hence customer service levels


This role requires excellent communication and analytical skills as well as the ability to deal with significant amount of data and ambiguity.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years related experience in Demand Planning/Sales Planning/Finance           
  • Undergraduate Degree - business, supply chain, finance, engineering background
  • Cross-functional experience in sales and/or marketing is an asset
  • People Leadership experience is an asset
  • Experience in CPG, fashion or related industry experience as well as exposure to S&OP is an asset
  • Proficient in MS Office tools-Advanced Excel Skills; forecasting or supply planning applications; SAP/APO/BI preferred, MS Project, Business Objects, or other ERP experience
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken
