Job Description

SUMMARY

The Sr Logistics Specialist manages and coordinates day-to-day internal logistics operations with outsourced 3PL and transportation service providers.  The Sr Specialist must drive performance around Key Performance Indicators and defined Service Level Guidelines.  Ability to work independently and at times, in ambiguous situations.  Ability to interface at all levels to drive execution.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Knowledge of outsourced supplier management principles.
  • Ability to use Key Performance Indicators to drive results.
  • Knowledge or order management and warehouse shipping order requests.
  • Fundamental knowledge of key warehousing and inventory management practices.
  • Ability to utilize data and data access tool to drive data driven results.
  • Ability to apply best practices in root cause analysis and correctives actions.
  • Knowledge of transportation management best practices.
  • Knowledge of systems – Both enterprise (SAP) and warehousing WMS.
  • Knowledge of EDI B2B Integration.
  • Ability to proactively support external parties i.e. freight forwarders & 3PLs through an improvement plan with respect to operational functions.  Participate and actively develop a corrective action plan through monthly & quarterly metrics reports/scorecards.
  • Manage and update standard operating procedures and service level guidelines as required.
  • Knowledge or risk and controls best practices.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Education: BS/BA in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of related operational or relevant experience.
  • Knowledge / Skills / Ability:
    • Expertise or working knowledge of toys industry is a plus.
    • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Project) & SAP.
    • Detail-oriented with emphasis on following up in a fast paced environment.
    • Interpersonal communication skills, relationship management, and collaboration skills is a must.  Ability to influence others through demonstrated expertise.
    • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
    • Data Analytics and cost activity.
    • Ability to work independently.
