The Job:

This position will report to the Director FP&A, and be responsible for the VCA/CEA process, CAPEX consolidation and producing financial plans (Budgets/Forecasts), financial insights & analyses.

  • Coordinate VCA (Vendor Cost Approval) and CEA (Capital Expense Approval) and pre-VCA processes to make sure TLP’s for all the markets are run in a timely manner.
  • Act as a go-to person on all VCA/CEA related matters for all stakeholders across the organization and provide training across the Company.
  • Provide TLPs for VCA and CEA process for the brands managed in Toronto, merchandising displays and also Global TLP’s.
  • Partner with Brand Marketing if the analysis for VCA/CEA is under corporate thresholds to provide rationale.
  • Maintain VCA Log to record cost and tooling updates provided by the Procurement team during the VCA/CEA process.
  • Keep track of the tooling by month and season based on CEA approvals.
  • Support the Toronto based GBU’s teams in TLP management.
  • Manage 3rd Party TLP models to assure quality and accuracy.
  • Prepare annual budget, quarterly forecasts and ad-hoc analyses for 3rd Party market and provide insights related to the Toy Line Plan.
  • Provide monthly summary of financial results (scorecards) for 3rd Party, as well as forecast updates including variance analysis with commentary and explanation for significant variances.
  • Support VP of Sales for 3rd Party by providing financial expertise, pricing analysis and financial presentations.
  • Lead CAPEX budget process globally to assure all teams provide their CAPEX submissions on time and all required CAPEX for Budget is accounted for.
  • Build financial models for new areas of business as required.

Job Requirements

  • Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot tables and V-lookups
  • Demonstrated judgment, influence, leadership, strategic thinking
  • A High degree of flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and demands of business partners

  • University degree coupled with a professional accounting designation
  • Demonstrated business partnership building
  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years of post-qualification related experience in a financial planning and analysis role.
  • Strong knowledge of Financial Planning, Forecasting and Budgeting
  • Experience with SAP and SAP BPC an asset.
  • Advanced user of Excel, including financial modeling, data manipulation
