Job Overview:


Who are you? You’re a storyteller, wordsmith, maybe even a brand poet – regardless you have 5+ years of advertising experience and can crank out killer integrated campaigns. You’re one part writer, one part child. Your imagination is just as wacky as your creative, but it always lands on strategy. You’ve shot TV commercials. You intimately understand the ins and outs of video production. You’re a digital wizard who knows how to roll up their sleeves and give an audience the content they not only need, but also deserve. You’ve seen Big. And if you haven’t, you’ll watch it. You make kids laugh. You may even have a few kids of your own. You watch cartoons, read comics, and can race to the ruff-ruff rescue to hit a tough deadline. But most importantly you channel all of your childlike enthusiasm into creating exceptional, groundbreaking work. Sound like you? Great. Take a look at what you’ll be doing.


We’re looking for copywriters that want to bring their ad agency game into a group of creative like-minded individuals inside of a billion dollar toy and entertainment company.

Storytellers. Wordsmiths. Regardless of the label, you are part writer and part problem-solver that can think like a child. You’re able to tell the story at a coffee shop about that one time a client wanted to re-write the script the day before shooting. When you see ads, sometimes you even re-write them in your head to be better. Your ideas have been called “crazy”, but they are always driven by strategy. Some of them have even gotten made. Most importantly, you’re unlimited in your creative approach, recognizing that not all business problems are solved with ads.

You’re unafraid to get your hands dirty. You’re someone who has shot TV commercials, created massive digital executions, and knows OOH—you’ve been a key part of creating fully integrated campaigns. And you are obsessive about crafting words to accurately convey the idea.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop creative campaigns from concept to execution under the guidance of senior creative.
  • Formulate, pitch, and sell ideas to internal clients and work closely with art directors, producers, and external production companies to oversee development of creative content.
  • Provide scripts and conceptual notes to storyboard artists, detailing stage direction, set design, wardrobe, etc.
  • Create and own ideas through every step of production and post-production.
  • Support all of Spin Master’s brands and collaborate with partners to achieve creative objectives.



Job Requirements


Education & Experience Requirements:

  • 5+ years of writing (maybe even some art direction) experience at a creative ad agency.
  • In-depth experience in television commercial and/or digital video production.
  • Can write for digital channels and non-TVC
  • Ability to translate brand strategy into integrated creative campaigns.
  • Has pitched ideas before.
  • Strong sense of humor.
  • Great sense of music.
  • Ability to self-manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in Toys and/or Children’s entertainment a plus.
  • Plays well with others.
