The Job:

You will be responsible for all aspects of payroll including payroll entry, execution, reporting, maintaining all HR data in the Canadian payroll systems, supporting the annual incentive compensation program, producing regular i.e., monthly, quarterly, or annual HR/payroll reports and adhoc reporting for all geographies, and management of special projects that support Spin Master HR strategies. 

Not enough responsibility? You will also partner with stakeholders i.e. finance, or accounting, and act as a key liaison to support accurate financial reporting.

What we can expect from you:

  • As we are a global organization, you will have a strong understanding of Canadian and US payroll regulations
  • You'll be reviewing the payroll bi-weekly for all of our Canadian employees
  • To organize, manage, coordinate, and execute necessary administrative activity involving the maintenance and updating of personnel records deemed vital for payroll
  • To complete bi-weekly audits on payroll, identify opportunities to improve payroll process and work with ADP COS (Canada) and the HR team to implement changes, and independently identify and resolve payroll errors
  • You'll prepare and analyze monthly payroll reports
  • You'll also verify payroll reports to ensure accuracy and maintain audit trails for all changes, prepare documents for year-end auditing by internal and external auditors, partner with finance to establish the annual budget and regular budget tracking/reporting, and accurately manage and maintain employee confidential data for budgeting, forecasting and other business reporting needs
  • You understand HRIS and Workday experience is a huge asset and you'll reconcile payroll data in ADP with employee data in Workday, assist with bi-weekly data integrity audit and ensure appropriate controls are followed in HR processes

  • University Degree, preferably in the area of finance or business administration
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience independently managing Canadian payroll (knowledge of US payroll is considered an asset)'
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Experience using the following systems: ADP COS, ADP Workforce Now, ADP People@work, ADP Small Business Arm, Workday
