The Job:

This mid-level position is 70% execution and 30% new brand concept and other brand extensions. This role will often support the Design Manager or Director of Packaging by providing line extensions to new brands. This person usually becomes the main point person for that particular Licensed brand. This person in this role is generally responsible for package design through production on 2 to 3 core Licensed brands 70% of the time and works on other brands and / or new brand concepts 30% of the time. 

  • Working under the direction of the Design Manager and / or Director of Packaging, you will create packaging design concepts that support brand strategy.
  • Create final artwork and ensure integrity of production deliverables relating to packaging and instructions.
  • Manage the timelines of the projects assigned to you.
  • Follow established approval procedures and protocols.
  • Maintain a consistent high level of quality, thoroughness and attention to detail.
  • Effectively communicate all project related progress/issues or concerns to the Design Manager and to Project Management in a timely and professional manner.
  • Solicit creative direction from the Design Manager and / or Director of Packaging in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with Structural Engineering, Marketing, Quality Control and Product Development teams as well as overseas agents, as necessary, in the package development and approval process.
  • Maintain knowledge of new technologies within your area of expertise.

Job Requirements

You should apply if you have the following:

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years in the consumer products industry; toy package design preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat PRO.
  • Basic knowledge of Excel and Outlook
  • Undergraduate degree in Graphic Design, (BFA) or equivalent; or 4 or more years related experience and / or training.
