The Role:

Reporting to the Director of Packaging the Packaging Coordinator will improve and manage the Project Management process of the Packaging Department. The ideal candidate will interact with various internal departments such as packaging, design, quality assurance, marketing as well as external vendors to ensure the completion of project milestones

  • Review creative briefs and manage the packaging review approval process
  • Track fiscal spending, manage resources, manage legal documents and process
  • Manages project milestones, project scope, resources and mitigates risk across projects
  • Manage the production and design of tradeshow booths & signage
  • Identifies partnership opportunities and capitalizes on "add-on" sales opportunities across projects
  • Drives "add on" revenue where applicable
  • Easily recognize areas for internal improvement and develops plans for implementation
  • Assess training needs and selects training tools for team members
  • Some administrative duties are required - track employee vacations /  leave of absence, execute legal documents, administer budget and expense reports, invoice processing, manage samples product photography and model/casting selections
  • Client Management
    • Manage and direct cross-convergent teams (Toronto / LA):  Design Manager; Structural Engineer; Production artists; 3D Designers; Illustrators.
    • Work with cross-functional teams (Marketing / Product Development / Engineering / QA) in TNT; LA; China and Hong Kong to turnaround Packaging and Instruction Guides deliverables per corporate calendar milestones dates.
    • Monitor schedule dates and work together with the New Toy Planner when project timelines are delayed. Make proactive recommendations to improve project schedule.
    • Project Manage the development of Instruction Sheets.
    • Manage outside vendors (Designers / Illustrators / Production Artists / Photographers / 3D artists).

 

Job Requirements

  • Complete understanding of Milestone process/timeline as it affects the packaging process
  • Strong understanding of Printing process, practices and requirements
  • Understanding of the application of QA/QC packaging standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with both internal coworkers and external parties
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Exceptional problem solving skills
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to balance multiple competing demands

You should apply if you have the following:

  • Experience as a Project Manager for the packaging process
  • Financial management experience - budgets, revenue goals, managing bill rates
  • Experience managing multiple large-scale projects in different points of the production cycle under tight deadlines
  • 5+ years’ experience with creative environment project management (consumer products, CPG and/or agency experience preferred)
  • Understands the print & production process
  • Good working knowledge of Excel, Acrobat, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Comfortable on PC and MAC platforms
