The Job:

Responsible for the sale of GUND’s products to field customers. Meet sales goals by hiring, training, motivating and coaching a team of Field Account Executives and Managers.  Sells personal accounts assigned.

What we can expect from you:

  • Develops and implements strategic sales plans in support of corporate goals.
  • Provide effective Managers and coverage of area by hiring, training, motivating and coaching field account executives.
  • Assist sales team with account strategies, territory planning, and customer service.
  • Assist sales team identify and open new accounts.
  • Stay current with competitive trends and direct this information to corporate management.
  • Determine sales goals, coverage and customer appointment schedules for corporate/regional shows. Coordinate show events.
  • Develop and maintain an expense budget. Monitor costs monthly.
  • Exceed goal in assigned personal accounts.
  • Directs implementation and execution of sales policies and practices.
  • Ensures communications regarding brands and promotions/programs are coordinated, support sales plan objectives and meet budget requirements.
  • Manages multiple channel selling strategies.
  • Builds, develops and motivates sales team capable of carrying out needed sales and service initiatives.
  • Product and Marketing collaboration as needed.
  • Report and track sales programs.
  • Manage Sales Support Team and functions.
  • Direct sales forecasting activity for Field.
  • Ensures the success of the sales associates by directing, monitoring progress and controlling obstacles.
  • Support customer sales by providing information through analytical reporting on sales statistics.
  • Provide regular reporting to update performance progress.
  • Personally sell and service accounts assigned.
  • Assure implementation of established GUND product rationalization methods in order to eliminate unprofitable items at retail level.
  • Plan and facilitate periodic sales meetings.
  • Meet with key customers, assist Field Sales Team with relationship management and sales negotiating.
  • Act as the principal liaison between Field Sales and Corporate.
  • Keeps informed of new products, services and general information of interest to customers.
  • Participate in trade shows as required.

Job Requirements

Who’s a good fit for this team:

  • Identifies and qualifies new sales opportunities with current and new customers to meet assigned sales goals.
  • Presents sales proposals, leads negotiations, coordinates complex decision-making processes and overcomes objections to closing the sale.
  • Prepares written sales proposals and meeting agendas.
  • Maintain customer relationship by handling all requests and coordinating customer service support. Troubleshoots problems regarding shipping, compliance and other services.
  • Consults with customer on product placement, merchandising and promotional programs.
  • Reviews and analyzes POS results and profitability.
  • Prepares sales forecasts of product needs for allocation purposes.
  • Communicates with company management via recaps of meetings and revised quarterly sales projections.
  • Keeps up-to-date on products, services, programs, and information of interest to customers.
  • Participate in trade shows, market weeks, sales meetings and other corporate functions as required.
  • Set and monitor sales targets for regional account managers.
  • Network with key customers to identify and address specific needs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers to ensure long-term success
  • Act as the liaison between customers and internal teams ensuring clients’ requirements are met.
  • Ensure brand consistency.
  • Negotiate business terms and programs as needed.
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction ratings, according to company standards
  • Liaise with Sales and Marketing departments to set and implement strategies for new products.
  • Stay up-to-date with internal and external developments and suggest new ways to increase sales.

 

 You should apply if you have the following:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Sales Management with background in wholesale/retail industry.
  • Demonstrated results in achieving sales goals and growing sales is required. Must have a clear understanding of consumer in addition to experience selling to retailers.
  • A strong leadership ability to lead people and get results is required.
  • Long-term planning, project management, strategic problem analysis and resolution and sales forecasting skills are critical.
  • Proven ability to build high-performance sales team is a must.
  • Commitment to support the Company’s strategic principles.
  • The ability to understand marketplace Trends and act on pertinent information required.
  • Proficient in computer skills – internet, email, spreadsheets, documents and
  • presentations.

  • The ability to travel approximately 30% - 40% of the time.    
  • Light, moderate physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials.
  • Regularly required to sit or stand, bend and reach.
