Job Description

1.0 General:

National Account Manager is responsible for formulating sound business plans, maximize opportunities, manage risk, deliver on profitability goals, develop effective long-term business relationships and exceed customer expectations.

2.0 Specific Responsibilities:

  • Developing bi-annual business plans that deliver upon company goals and meet customer needs
  • Deliver product presentations, business proposals and ad plans to customers on time
  • Understand customers’ timelines and proactively provide them with all information and materials required to make decisions and manage business well
  • Work with support team to develop forecasts that best reflect market realities; update forecasts as required, at minimum on a monthly basis
  • Timely and effective review of actual performance to ensure goals are achieved and adjust plans as necessary
  • Manage client-specific budget
  • Analysis of sell through data and market intelligence to maximize business opportunities while minimizing risk
  • Clear and efficient communication with customers; fast solutions to challenges
  • Work proactively and effectively with team members to deliver best possible customer service
  • Work in a team environment, providing feedback to your account management team
  • Quickly gain a thorough understanding of all account business objectives and marketing plans by gaining multi-level and cross functional contacts within the your account portfolio
  • Develop innovative sales and marketing led account plans that will maximise Spin Master’s performance within each account
  • Co-ordinate trade marketing and marketing activity within your accounts to ensure delivery of planned volume, distribution and profit targets
  • Maximise account profitability through strategic business planning including, delivery of volume, revenue and margin and creative promotional work and good use of data to provide category solutions
  • Work closely with accounts to gain joint agreement on objectives for sales growth whilst managing each account selections process
  • Negotiate at senior level to ensure Spin Master maximises the advantage of long term supply agreements and optimises all elements of the marketing mix
  • Accurate forecasting and working closely with the planning team to ensure stock is delivered to accounts as required
  • Flexibility regarding accounts managed
  • Actively work as part of a team to create a solution oriented culture, leading by example
  • Maintain and further develop the strong commercial and personal relationships between SPIN MASTER and your account base and ensure SPIN MASTER remains a preferred supplier

3.0 Reporting Lines

      3.1 The National Account Manager reports to the General Manager

Job Requirements

4.0 Required Skill Set:

  • Customer driven approach- a go-getter attitude
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships, both externally and internally
  • Demonstrated organization, planning and communication skills
  • Goal oriented to achieve targets through self-motivation, persistence & determination
  • Ability to create and maintain business presentations, excel files, read POS reports
  • Fluent English
  • Good computer knowledge
  • Ambitious, determined, results-oriented, convincing, extroverted, strong presentations skills

5.0 Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Business studies with main focus on Sales and Marketing or adequate professional experience
  • 6 plus years national sales and account management exp.
  • Retail, Consumer Product Goods experience preferred
  • Demonstrated success managing a business portfolio with a national Toy retailers
