Job Description:

The Job:

Design, develop & test a variety of structural packaging to achieve CSP (Cost, Schedule & Performance) per Spin Master’s standards, branding objectives and project plan

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate efforts of engineering, quality, manufacturing, design, marketing, packaging design into innovative and functional packaging structure designs for new and existing products
  • Develop and produce complex conceptual and assembly designs for retail packaging
  • Maintain knowledge of packaging technologies and trends related to design, materials, and machinery in order to drive innovation and functionality
  • Perform preliminary package feasibilities to determine proper package size, package           style and affordability.
    General knowledge of graphic printing, associated equipment and materials
  • Accountable for Cost, Schedule and Performance of the designs for which you have developed
  • Creative/innovative thinking towards solutions in designing a variety of retail packages for best possible shelf appeal
  • Collaborate with overseas manufacturing and quality engineers to ensure parties are aligned on all issues related to ongoing projects
  • Update DSP system with accurate dims for all SKU’s under the assigned GBU.

Required Skill Set:

  • Ability to design and document complex retail packaging systems made from paperboards, corrugates and plastics
  • Skilled with Illustrator, Artios CAD programs with experience producing conceptual and assembly drawings (including interior protective packaging and inserts)
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Proven track record in new package development within a high volume, innovative, and entrepreneurial environment
  • Portfolio of past structure designs( including photos, dielines prints and digital files

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year designing and developing retail within the Industry
  • Hands-on experience with various packaging technologies, materials, and assembly processes in addition to a sound understanding of the costs and manufacturing processes associated with each
