The Job:

As a member of the customer facing team the Item Master Data Specialist will lead the administration, process, procedure and analytics of our overall item data synchronization processes that supports order execution.  This role will partner with Supply Chain leadership to establish the global strategy and standards for item setup and quoting execution with our retailers/customers. The role will serve as the liaison between Operations, other internal partners as well as our retailers/customers to develop the standards and processes needed to ensure clean, effective, and accurate data. They will execute the setup, maintenance, and improvement of data efficacy for item setup & quoting.  This position requires a thorough understanding of SAP data structure to ensure consistent data management and accuracy of the information derived from our ERP to support core enterprise functions, including Supply Chain and Sales.  In the role the Item Master Data Specialist will provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support continuous improvements as well as major integration type projects. 

  • Act as the primary point of contact related to the day-to-day execution of Item Setup and Quoting related tasks
  • They will work to answer questions, resolve data issues and provide analysis
  • Ensures item setup and quoting data integrity in key systems (Internal and external) as well as maintaining the processes to support the ongoing data quality
  • Adherence to SOPs for all item setup and quoting activities
  • Identifies areas for data quality improvements and helps to resolve data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction
  • Ensures quality of item set up data in customer’s systems
  • Identify requirements for systematic execution of item sets and quoting globally
  • Execute synchronization of item sets and quoting across multiple systems (e.g. customer portal, Speed Quote, 1Worldsync etc.)
  • Participated in continuous improvement activities to improve the overall speed to market of new product launches within the Item Setup and Quoting processes
  • Escalate/communicate service Issues to internal and external stakeholders on a timely basis
  • Researches customer order discrepancies and performs data alignment with our retailer / customer systems customers
  • Accountable for the setup of Customer Material Info Records (CMIR) as it relates to new item setups/quotes
  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with customer and internal stakeholders
  • Participate in projects as assigned

Job Requirements

Who’s a good fit for this team:

  • Candidate MUST have experience with Master Data; specifically, SAP material master experience
  • Demonstrate an analytical, methodical, and creative approach to resolving issues
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments, and adapt quickly to evolving business needs, whilst achieving high level of results
  • Must be customer focused with a strong understanding of the customer base
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proven project management skills
  • Strong analytical ability

You should apply if you have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Supply Chain & Logistics or related discipline
  • Understanding of GS1 Global Standards
  • 1 World Sync system knowledge
  • Knowledge of customer service and supply chain principles and practices
  • Min 5 yrs.+ CPG/Retail Experience preferred
  • Experience with a Tier 1 ERP system (SAP) required
  • Extensive Excel skills and knowledge of other MS Office applications (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, etc.)
  • 3+ Years Team Leadership
