Job Description

General:

  • The International Product & Brand Manager is responsible for all International brand management and development which includes creating, developing and maintaining global branding strategy, sourcing/licensing local publishing content, planning international content strategy (by market), managing product development timelines, and preparing all communication assets and strategy to drive sell in and sell through at retailers.  The International Product & Brand Manager will also lead the development, implementation, and management (maintaining P&L etc.) of strategic and tactical marketing programs, focusing on the international brand strategy, product, and content across the assigned business segment in order to achieve financial growth and profit targets.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Create, develop, manage and maintain all aspects of the international Moonlite marketing plan, including brand and product marketing strategy, product positioning, packaging strategy, creative strategy briefs, market research and consumer insights, advertising, in-store displays, public relations, licensing, web/internet, and targeted consumer/trade outreach and promotion alongside Global Business Lead
  • Work with North America brand team and cross functional teams on product development that maintains brand positioning - from concept feasibility and selection, consumer research, production, and marketplace success.
  • Manage the financial aspects of a portfolio of the brand for international markets, including costing and pricing, P&L, budgeting, SKU rationalization and profitability analysis alongside North America Global Business Lead
  • Identify desirable new business opportunities from a content perspective via working with key publishers. Also work to identify local market expansion potential by conducting sales and marketing competitive analysis of current and potential business. This includes sourcing proper titles that resonate with local markets, developing relationships with key publishers, presenting key licensing opportunities, managing channels of distribution and sales targets, establishing pricing for each local market, industry standard margin requirements, market definition, promotional spending requirements and consumer benefits/needs.
  • Participate in sales presentations for large retailers and provide sales tools supporting successful sell in of one or more brands. Also participate in internal sales presentations to arm sales force with data to sell in brand to new retailers.
  • Assist in management of trade shows, conducting analysis of effectiveness, prioritization of exhibiting and attendance, product selections and booth design directions.

Job Requirements

Required Skill Set:

  • Strong ability to partner with Licensing, Design, Packaging, Marketing, Media and other departments
  • Demonstrated abilities to work in a matrix environment with the ability to forge strong relationships within a company
  • Solid understanding of product development and the related functions for diverse product lines
  • Required competencies include intelligence, analysis, decision making ability, conceptual ability, creative ability, performance management, conflict management, excellence, stress management, and tenacity

 

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • 10+ years of consumer product brand management experience in a new product-oriented industry, preferably in children’s toys
  • College/University degree in Marketing or related field
  • MBA a plus
