The Job:

The Project Engineering Intern will provide support on new product development across a great variety of hard and soft toy categories. The successful candidate will be an individual contributor, bringing excellence in Product Development (PD), supporting PD tool development/ maintenance, and working on project management aspects for toy development.

 

What we can expect from you:

  • Work with internal/external parties in order to achieve identified engineering specs for new products
  • Provide project management and engineering services on different brands of products under guidance of the Product Development Manager
  • Design and conduct product performance testing
  • Conduct cost analysis in mass manufacturing setting
  • Review samples and prototype through various stages of product lifecycle by working with cross functional team members including Product Designers, Brand Managers, Packaging Designers, Quality Engineer, etc.
  • Prepare preliminary function description and sketches for new development projects
  • Hands-on prototype building involving machining, 3D CAD, and 3D Printing
  • Identify necessary challenges to ensure successful launch of products based on the following measurements (on spec/on time/on cost)
  • Identify operations improvement opportunities under guidance of the Product Development Manager

Job Requirements

  • An analytical individual that exercises creativity to generate solutions
  • Knowledge in plastic material selection, engineering and manufacturing processes
  • Self-starter, able to work independently and bring project to finish line
  • A great communicator with basic programming knowledge and experience will be considered an asset

  • Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering student or equivalent with related intern or summer exposure, preferably in manufacturing industry
