Ecommerce Copywriter (Contract)


Who are you? You’re a storyteller, wordsmith, maybe even a brand poet – regardless you have a minimum of 4-5 years of Copywriting experience and can crank out killer copy when it counts. You’re one part writer, one part child. You know the online retail space. You thrive when conversion rates are up, and dig into the “why” when they’re down. You’ve seen Big. And if you haven’t, you’ll watch it. You make kids laugh. You may even have a few of your own. But most importantly you channel all of your childlike enthusiasm into creating exceptionally crafted copy. Sound like you? Great. Take a look at what you’ll be doing.

As an E-Commerce at Spin Master, your main responsibilities will include creating product descriptions and enhanced content for a wide variety of items across digital retail channels. You will also support our direct to consumer site with original content such as articles, newsletters and promotional copy as required. Using your sharp research skills, you will distill technical information into well-crafted copy that clearly communicates the features and benefits of Spin Master’s products to consumers. You will need to be hands on and able to prioritize multiple requests at once. If you have an eagle eye for detail, grammar, and consistency, then this is the role for you.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Drive the development of E-Com content
  • Develop fresh, engaging, and original consumer facing copy across all E-commerce channels.
  • Create, proofread and self-edit copy that clearly communicates product features and benefits.
  • Write multiple retail marketing components, including product copy, banners, promotions, catalogues, newsletters and other projects as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal Writers, Brand, Sales, and Creative Teams.




Job Requirements

Required Skill Set:

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable juggling multiple projects.
  • Skilled at writing high volumes of content while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent research and competitive analysis skills
  • Extremely detailed oriented
  • 4-5 years Copywriting experience inside E-Com / Retail channels.
