The Job:

Sago Mini creates beautiful and thoughtfully designed apps & toys for preschoolers and toddlers. We’re looking for an experienced e-commerce leader to join our team as we spin up a new direct-to-customer initiative. You will guide the e-commerce strategy, oversee the design and functionality of the platform and manage the digital marketing initiatives for direct-to-customer sales. This is a senior role that reports directly to the CEO. It requires a highly entrepreneurial candidate who brings enthusiasm and expertise across a range of disciplines in pursuit of business goals.

As our Director of E-commerce, you will work with product owners, marketing, and leadership to create a beautifully merchandised, high-converting infrastructure for a new digital retail concept for parents of children ages 2-5. You are a motivated, high-performing leader, able to apply insight while moving at the quick pace required to achieve ambitious goals. You will share an equal respect for brand and performance, understanding the importance of building both impactfully to ensure long-term success.

What we can expect from you:

  • Develop and lead an e-commerce strategy to drive the highest ROI growth.
  • Promote and execute best-in-class user experience methodologies, including testing strategies and usability research, to maximize site sales and conversion on desktop and mobile.  
  • Leverage analytical skills, data, and tools to guide go-forward strategies and execution against key business objectives; manage all reporting and analytics.
  • Work closely with marketing leadership to optimize owned and paid channels, including inbound SEO, paid media channels, partnerships, content marketing and email marketing in order to build online awareness and accelerate subscription revenue.
  • Develop and execute campaigns for new customer acquisition and drive enhanced revenue from our existing customer base.
  • Drive continuous improvement of customer service to enhance the experience of our e-commerce customers.
  • Collaborate across teams to achieve company goals including marketing and product management.
  • Build and lead a team to execute on the setup and maintenance of the e-commerce site, day-to-day order management, customer care and performance marketing.

Job Requirements

Who’s a good fit for this team:

  • You have 5+ years of professional experience developing successful online businesses in e-commerce (bonus points if you have experience with recurring revenue business models).
  • You have a proven track record in running a successful e-commerce business that has experienced significant growth.
  • You are a subject matter expert in web production, site operations, UI/UX, features and functionalities.
  • You have CRM, SEO, and/or digital marketing experience.
  • You have strong skills in strategy, planning, budget, P&L management.
  • You have led and developed teams and people love working with and for you.
  • You can think big picture but have a keen sense of tactical execution in the e-commerce or subscription box space.
