The Role:

We are looking for a Director of Digital Design & Content who is passionate, knowledgeable and has implemented state-of-the-art Digital Content; a digital innovator that will be strategically pushing the boundaries in our content (on every platform) and continuously improving the digital customer journey while supporting our marketing priorities.  This person lives and breathes pop-culture and has a passion for innovation. Spin Master is continuing to heavily invest in digital content with content creation happening both internally and with external resources.

This role will be accountable for developing and executing creative content in support of the Digital Creative Strategy of several digital content marketing programs in a fast-paced and agency-like production environment. Leading a team of in-house content producers and digital (UX/UI) Designers from concept to market, the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the produced content is on strategy, aligned with stakeholder requirements, within budget, on-time, and best in class.  You will be working closely with cross-functional groups in Brand Marketing, Digital Marketing, E-commerce and the Creative Content Team to plan and coordinate the creation of digital content while remaining on strategy so client service skills and relationship management is essential.

You will also be leading a small team of talented content creators/producers and digital designers, so will need to show leadership ability and be able to motivate and mentor  creatives at all levels.

In addition to managing a team and their creative efforts, you will also be a hands-on creative resource, taking on content projects of your own.

What we can expect from you:

  • Collaborating with cross functional groups and continuously finding innovative ways to incorporate content across our digital channels to drive engagement and demonstrate ROI.
  • Accountable for ensuring world-class content is produced for several portfolios of the digital content marketing program on time, on budget and to a high level of quality.
  • Working closely with the Digital Marketing team, Account Management team and the Senior Creative Director to bridge the gap between Digital Strategy and Creative Development and Execution on the portfolio of integrated content marketing programs.
  • Work to gather feedback and approvals from stakeholders to create ‘best in class’ content.
  • Work closely with the Digital Producers in managing project plans and production schedules.
  • Manage and creatively mentor of team of Content Producers, Editors, Videographers and Digital Designers.

Job Requirements

Who’s a good fit for this team:

  • Knowledgeable about YouTube, Instagram and other popular video platforms and experience in creating content for the online video space.
  • Active on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat or Twitter).
  • Digital Native with 5 to 10 years working in the digital space preferably at a Digital Agency or Production Shop.
  • Strong understanding of digital content pre-production, production, and post-production processes to create content from concept-to-market. This includes but not limited to: brief development, concept development, directing photo and video shoots, writing copy, directing design, development, and content builds.
  • Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Strong Creative Direction and Leadership ability.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects and prioritize work without missing critical deadlines.
  • Ability to both adapt to and manage changing priorities independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with people at all levels within a team environment.
  • Proven ability to do whatever it takes to get the job done while continuously taking initiative and pushing projects forward under tight deadlines.
  • Experience with Out-of-Home advertising, digital design and experiential marketing is a plus.


You should apply if you have the following:

  • Experience as a Creative/Art Director with a degree in Film, Art, Design and/or business, marketing, media studies
  • Agency or Post Production Shop background, and deep understanding of multi-tasking at your core
  • Strong project management experience, collaborating with multiple internal teams to distill, define, manage and execute Creative Digital Content plans.
