The Job:

The Associate Designer role requires the creative skills to Design and create 2D and 3D soft and hard products that satisfy the strategic needs of the marketplace and the company. The designer needs to be flexible in how they accomplish this goal, both in creating the deliverables themselves or if needed working with teammates or external vendors to deliver the wide range of product deliverables. A good understanding of manufacturing processes and the deliverables to achieve the best outcome. The designer should exhibit an interest and knowledge in toys, children’s fashion, textile, plush, and nursery décor trends.

What we can expect from you:

  • Participate in new product brainstorming, rapid visualization, and prototyping.
  • Staying current on plush and infant category and the marketplace as well as general consumer trends
  • Participate in product strategy development, and create innovative solutions to meet those needs
  • Concept Development for existing brands and new areas of expansion
  • Work cooperatively within Design, as well as outside of Design to deliver products that meet all our needs for production and for the final consumer.
  • Communicate clearly with international teams and vendors to create products that meet our manufacturing needs (e.g. cost, schedule, feasibility & safety)
  • Development of sketches, 2-D renderings and 3-D concept models for product concepts


Job Requirements

Who’s a good fit for this team:

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects and prioritize work without missing critical deadlines.
  • 2D and 3D creation skills (sketching, rendering, building) to communicate scale, features and aesthetics of soft and hard products.
  • Flexible with unexpected changes, in schedule needs and product direction
  • Must be a resourceful, self-starter, who knows how to get things done independently
  • Presentation skills are valued for communicating product attributes to the executive level of the organization
  • Brainstorming self starter with rapid visualization skills to communicate ideas is essential


You should apply if you have the following:

  • 2+ years’ experience as a Toy Designer, Children’s Product Designer, or Children’s Fashion Designer is required
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc)
  • Sketching and rendering skills
  • Toy Design, Industrial Design, Fashion Design or Graphic Design Degree or equivalent
  • Sewing skills are a plus
