Job Overview:

  • The Channel/Business Development Manager will work with the Spin Master Games & Puzzle team in New York and Hong Kong, and work with the Account Mgt teams, Sales Reps, and Specific Customer accounts to develop, present, and maximize business growth plans. The KPI’s will be aligned with GBU and account teams to maximize opportunities, manage risk, deliver on top line sales & profitability growth goals, develop long-term business relationships, and exceed customer and corporate expectations.
  • The positions (2) would aligned to A. Value, Drug, Grocery, Club business, and B. Online, Emerging, Specialty customers. The positions will report to the respective Sales Leads for each channel. The positions will be based in Spin Master East, Long Island City, NY.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop channel and/or customer specific business plans that support profitable growth for Cardinal, Spin Master and customers. Business plans will include:
    • Customer TLP’s - including Customer wholesale, retail & potential Sales / profit
    • Brand, customer and channel promotional plans, exclusives, on shelf and off shelf executions, new product launches.
    • Market insights, trends, competitive, and consumer insights.
  • Work with Sales Team Leads, each Sales Rep, and some accounts directly, to fully understand their business and identify growth opportunities in both games/puzzles.
    • Gather internal and external business intelligence information, to develop and present product recommendations, and VLP’s by channel and some specific customers.
  • Liaise with Games Account teams, Marketing and Brand teams to lead the develop and define the strategy for the various Channel businesses over the next three years.
    • Contribute ideas to New Product Development.
    • Develop tools necessary to drive and support the sell-in and sell-thru of the Games & Puzzles product lines.
    • Support the Account teams in Customer meeting planning, previews, and meetings.
  • Understand, and communicate customers’ timelines and proactively provide the account management teams with all information and materials required to make decisions and support business growth. (product presentations, business proposals and ad plans)
  • Work with the Games GBU team to develop, and present the marketing plans for Spin Master East Games, including brand and product marketing strategy, product positioning, market research and consumer insights, advertising, in-store POP, web/internet, and targeted consumer/trade outreach and promotions.
  • Work with the account teams and COE support team to develop sales and licensing forecasts that best reflect market realities; update forecasts as required, at minimum on a monthly basis
  • Analysis of sell through data and market intelligence to maximize business opportunities while minimizing risk
  • Clear and efficient communication with the sales team and reps, and customers; Be proactive and offer fast solutions to challenges
  • Responsible for leading and driving channel and customer specific projects & off-shelf pallet and other retailer specific promotions
  • Assist in planning & set up of trade shows

Additional details:

  • Travel will involve visiting:
    • Spin Master North American offices – Toronto and/or LA
    • Key customer accounts
    • Hong Kong – typically for trade shows in January and/or October.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Retail, Games or toy, Consumer Product Goods experience preferred
  • Demonstrated success managing a business portfolio
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office, coupled with excellent organizational communication and customer service
  • Knowledge and experience selling into various channels, including drug, grocery, value, specialty, department stores, and online platforms.
