Position Title:          Brand Manager

Location:                 Australia

 

1.0 General:

  • Reporting to the Marketing Director, the Brand Manager holds accountability for assisting to deliver the region’s strategic marketing and brand plans.  This role has responsibility for the planning, execution and control of fully integrated marketing campaigns and initiatives to meet and exceed the business unit revenue, margin and EBIT objectives. 
  • Specific Responsibilities:

Marketing Strategy

  • Support and assist in the development, planning and management of a set of marketing plans by category and by brand, ensuring they deliver to both global and local objectives and business metrics.
  • Work to ensure marketing plans are innovative, build brand equity/awareness and are cost effective.
  • Manage relevant reporting of management and financial information for each brand and/or category group.
  • In conjunction with the Marketing Director, review Australian and New Zealand Distributor marketing plans to ensure agreed investment and support levels by brand are being maximized.

Advertising & Promotion

  • Support and help prepare media and PR briefs in accordance with the agreed budgets and timetable
  • Support and help plan and ensure all digital platforms, websites, app’s, partner media sites, support the brand campaign and product messaging
  • Review post campaign and competitive analysis

Brand and Product Management

  • Manage all marketing activities including (but not limited to) licensing, promotions, advertising, media, packaging, public relations, trade shows, sku rationalization, profitability analysis and pricing.
  • In conjunction with the Marketing Director, manage the TLP (Total Line Plan) to ensure all items and brands are meeting the required marketing contribution and direct contribution %’s.
  • Develop, as instructed by the Marketing Director, product range selection, including exclusives, and pricing strategy for local market
  • Review performance to ensure revenue, product margins, and operating profit are on target
  • Manage sku productivity through effective forecasting and review.  Identify poor performers early and develop action plan in conjunction with sales team.
  • Work with Demand Planning to review aged inventory and develop action plan
  • Understand customers’ timelines and proactively provide sales team with all information and materials required to make decisions and manage each customer effectively
  • Analysis of sell through data and market intelligence to maximise business opportunities
  • Develop full working knowledge of the playability and functionality of the products
  • Work with the QA team to ensure all products compliance with Australian Toy safety standards and product codes eg radio frequency

Business Relationship

  • Develop strong relationships with Spin Master GBU’s (global brand teams)
  • Build strong, professional working relationships with key promotional, entertainment and licensing partners
  • Build strong relationship with media agencies
  • Partner with the sales team to ensure full integration of sales plans with marketing and brand objectives. 
  • Communicate all relevant information to Demand and Supply Planning in relation to product categories     

Job Requirements

  • 1-3 years of consumer product brand management experience in a new product-oriented industry, preferably working with toy, entertainment, fashion, or other pop culture products
  • Working knowledge of a variety of marketing tactics from TV, print, digital and consumer promotions
  • Business/Commerce Degree Qualifications, with major in Marketing or related area
  • Ability and willingness to travel interstate and internationally
  • Overseas travel includes travel to Toronto – Canada, Los Angeles – USA, Hong Kong and New Zealand
  • Direct experience with the full product development cycle, with a track record of thriving in a growth oriented and changing environment
  • Experience managing multiple projects at once in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Proven ability to do whatever it takes to get the job done while continuously taking the initiative and pushing projects forward under tight deadlines
  • Strong collaboration skills and proven ability to work in a matrix environment
  • Outstanding planning, presentation and communication skills
  • Strong literacy in MS Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), SAP, Salesforce an asset
  • Goal oriented to achieve targets through self-motivation, persistence & determination
