Associate Marketing Manager -- Toronto

The Role:

As the Associate Marketing Manager, you are part of the team responsible for the product commercialization and the development of marketing plans and campaigns that drive growth of multiple brands in Spin Master’s portfolio.  You are someone who demonstrates the passion required to champion new product launches, brand building and best in class marketing. You are a creative out of the box thinker with a solid understanding of the entire marketing process.  You have a strong track record of winning the hearts and minds of consumers through omni-channel marketing campaigns.  You are expected to be the champion of the brand(s) you lead for our Global Business Unit and inspire cross-functional team members & partners with your passion and excitement. You will leverage your technical marketing skills through on-going execution of product development/commercialization, business/brand planning, retailer marketing, sponsorship & experiential/event marketing activation and business analysis.

What we can expect from you:

  • Responsible for ensuring brand database is accurate while providing key insights for suggested updates. Responsible for sharing cross functionally and recommending marketing updates to better align with brand/item position and reasons to believe.
  • Responsible for reviewing weekly POS for all key media drivers and providing suggested changes based on contributing factors eg. POS, timelines, analytics etc.
  • Responsible for pulling weekly US and Global Forecast as well as POS with a clear analysis of changes
  • Owns competitive data and recommendations on how to leverage the information
  • Responsible for managing and communicating online reviews and sentiment
  • Responsible for summarizing upcoming marketing plans for Activities GBU on a weekly basis and reviewing COE media chart to ensure it is always up to date
  • Responsible for reviewing and approving both paid/organic social strategies and content
  • Responsible for auditing and the upkeep of all owned channels eg. Websites, Social channels, Youtube etc.
  • In collaboration with producer and COE partners, responsible for owning deliverable timelines and providing recommendations based on progress
  • Responsible for first round of feedback on content submitted for approval eg. Digital, Influencer, Merchandising, Experiential set ups etc.
  • Oversee internal marketing promotions and tradeshow management eg. LA Toy Fair, New York Toy Fair etc.
  • Expert on brand guidelines, product positioning and messaging hierarchy

  • You have a Business, Marketing or Communications Degree, or equivalent and relevant experience
  • 2-5 years of consumer product and marketing experience in a new product-oriented industry, preferably working with toy, entertainment, fashion, or other pop culture products
