The Role:

This role is responsible for supporting the planning and execution of the product portfolio innovation and the execution of the marketing campaigns that drive growth of the Tech Deck Brand (and other brands as needed/identified).  You are a project management Ninja and you are someone who demonstrates the passion required to champion and build this iconic brand to new levels.  You are a creative out of the box thinker who is a savvy digital media & social media marketer.  You have a good understanding of what it takes to win the hearts and minds of target consumers through omni-channel marketing campaigns that win at retail.  You are expected to be the champion of the brand(s) you manage for our GBU and inspire cross-functional team members & agency partners with your passion and excitement. You will leverage your technical marketing skills through on-going support of the product development process and milestones and sales & campaign analysis .  You are someone who will roll up their sleeves to do what it takes to get things done.

What we can expect from you:

Brand/Marketing Management Functions

  • Brand voice and lead for 1 mainline brand (& other brand/items as they arise).
  • Manage all activities related to supporting building and the execution of all integrated marketing plans. Including (but not limited to): supporting the briefing process, advertising, media production, sponsorship, event activation, packaging, branding, public relations, trade shows, market research, sales analysis/performance, licensing, promotions.
  • Assist in managing projects related to product development activities including (but not limited to): preparing new product start documents, product costing, turn over transmittals, packaging and product briefs for your brand & across the GBU as required.
  • Liaise with internal departments (Engineering, Quality Assurance, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Sales, Planning, internal marketing centers of excellence) as well as with outside partners (vendors, licensors, inventors, marketing agencies) both nationally and internationally at all stages of product and marketing campaign development and to ensure the smooth running of all projects under your care & scope of responsibility.

    Under the Guidance of the Director of Marketing:

  • Works with the Marketing Director to support the development of the GBU Marketing Plans & campaigns through research, analysis and supporting activities as directed.
  • Responsible for managing the day to day execution of the IMP Campaign components.
  • Collaboratively with the Director of Marketing to gather and analyze brand/category specific data to understand consumer trends and develop business building recommendations.
  • Support the licensed partnership relationship & strategy with our licensing team & external consultant.
  • Regularly audit and understand the competitive landscape and lifestyle/skate culture trends to generate consumer/buyer engagement, drive sales, identify new whitespace opportunities and digital/social strategies/plans.
  • Gain meaningful insights into business drivers & challenges/opportunities.
  • Builds Sales Summit & Sales Decks
  • Sales analysis & reporting to support the Brand and other GBU brands as needed.
  • Administrative functions to support driving the business as needed ie new product/item set up, sample ordering etc.

Job Requirements

You should apply if you have the following:

  • University or College degree in Marketing, Commerce, or related field.
  • 3 years of consumer marketing management experience, preferably working with toy, entertainment, sports, consumer products and or lifestyle brands.
  • Digital and Social Media Savvy. Must have a strong knowledge of the digital media landscape and Social media platforms and the role they play in brand building.
  • Experience in event marketing/experiential & sponsorship activations.
  • Financial acumen and some P&L experience/basic understanding.
  • Understanding of product development lifecycle & launching new products.
  • Experience in building and executing marketing plans/campaigns.
  • Experience managing multiple projects at once in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Working knowledge of a variety of marketing tactics from TV, print, digital and consumer promotions, shopper marketing, video content production, social media community management.
  • Analytical and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable in cross-functional/collaborative cultures & working with external agency partners.
  • Passionate about creative excellence and willing to drive self and others to achieve “magic.”
  • More than just a talented marketing professional, you understand or have an interest skateboarding/action sports and its culture. (nice to have)
