Job Description

General :

Assistant Brand Manager (ABM) is supporting the Marketing Manager (Pre-School, Girls) and Brand Manager (Activities). They assist on duties as required as an ABM and to support UK Marketing team.

Principal Objectives:

  • Provide ABM support for major brands such as Paw Patrol (Pre-School) Twisty Pets (Girls), Kinetic Sand & Cool Brands (Activities)
  • Key ABM responsibilities include, but not limited to:
    • Assisting in activation of retail activities, Ecom, TV and digital.
    • Support in liaising with and supplying information to licensors (e.g. Nickelodeon)
    • Supporting MM and BM in forecasting and analysis
    • Support MM and BM with major brand launches
    • Assist MM and BM in presenting ranges and plans to retail partners.
  • Potential to take direct brand responsibly for own brand – at an appropriate point in time (to be agreed). Use brand experience as an opportunity to build hands-on knowledge of:  
    • P&L management and pricing
    • Forecasting Reviews and Planning
    • Working with Sales to present ranges in VIP previews to key
    • Media planning – e.g. TV and Digital
    • Developing appropriate Visual Merchandising, Ecom and PR plans.
  • Toy Fair – a key member of the wider team responsible for managing attendance at UK Toy Fair. Responsible for helping the team in any areas necessary to set up and attend Toy Fair.  Attend UK Toy Fair and any other international toy fairs, as and when required.
  • Showroom management – part of the team to help manage and update UK showrooms twice yearly.
  • UK Website – Twice yearly with LA web team to send all updates for the coming season to keep SMUK site up to date.
  • Visual Merchandising (VM) – Support VM projects on ABM brands and be part of the team to review the VM process, to share experience gained in this area for retail experience.
  • PR’s/PO’s – work with marketing team to assist in the creation and approval of Purchase Requisitions (PR’s) and supply of Purchase Orders (PO’s).

Additional detail :

  • E-com. Marketing Manager will oversee wider project on Ecom and will support ABM to develop their UK responsibilities in this area.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Relevant experience in the Toy Industry of at least 2 years+. Experience gained in or through a combination of supplier and/or retailer.
  • Degree Educated with marketing/business qualifications (preferably). Marketing qualifications could include Degree, Diploma in Marketing (DipM) or other recognized marketing qualifications from the UK or overseas.
