The Job:

The Senior Research Specialist will be responsible for identifying, developing and implementing strategic Qualitative and Quantitative research programs to support revenue growth across our Global Business Units. These programs will include, but are not limited to, consumer segmentation, product development evaluation, shopper analysis, play pattern identification, and marketing communications analysis. 

What we can expect from you:

  • Manage the global market research budget per project, leading multiple projects concurrently
  • Provide marketing research project leadership through identification of appropriate research objectives, methodologies and provides actionable recommendations to the business teams
  • Translate data and information into actionable insights and business recommendations utilizing best in class “story telling” and engaging communication
  • Manage/execute consumer and sensory research
  • Leverage & manage supplier relationships to maximize quality and value (on a project by project basis)
  • Facilitate communication between Consumer Insights Team and key business stakeholders (Global Business Unit Leaders and other cross functional units)
  • Translate marketing and consumer research and insights into actionable customer specific communication, category and Market plans
  • Develop tools, scorecards, and presentations driven by category

Job Requirements

Who’s a good fit for this team:

  • Leadership skills with an ability to lead cross functional teams and senior management through influence and persuasion
  • Experience working with kids and toy = a plus
  • Experience across a broad range of market research techniques and analytical techniques such as: Brand Tracking, Concept Screening, Packaging Testing, U&A, Segmentation, Communication/Ad Testing, Conjoint, Pricing Sensitivity, Preference Testing, Category/Consumer Exploration
  • Demonstrated thought leadership and proven ability to integrate marketing research knowledge to drive business planning and decisions; Able to synthesize learnings/implications from multiple data sources – can tell a story, an influential communicator
  • Understanding of consumer packaged goods market research methodologies, suppliers, best practices
  • Understanding of marketing processes: business planning, marketing strategy, advertising development, media and promotions
  • Competency in  managing complex/strategic research projects
  • Strong ability to analyze and interpret results
  • Ability to effectively present to senior & diverse audience
  • Strong leadership & negotiation skills to deal effectively with senior managers and a wide variety of external stakeholders with differing agendas

 

You should apply if you have the following:

  • A University Degree in Business or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in market research – preferably both client and supplier side
  • Extensive knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies/techniques
