Job Description


The successful candidate should have experience in operations, inventory management & planning, demand forecasting, and/or product life cycles. He/she must be able to manage a large portfolio of products, be solution-oriented & able to build/improve efficient processes. This person will be highly analytical, flexible, action and results oriented, self-starting, and be comfortable with computer databases and tools.

The person will also have responsibility for analyzing the production capacity which is needed by an organisation to meet changing demands for its products. He/she must understand how the business operates and cooperate with Production Planners on plans for future capacity requirements. Monitors Production Planning activities to ensure targets are met in-time and on-full; in direct contact with production/factories.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage inventory plan for assigned products
  • Coordinate new product and product phase out planning with the Brand Management & Sales Team
  • Prepare Supply Agreement Meeting (SAM) analysis in support of the Sales and Operations Planning Process
  • Manage inventory in terms of Inventory level, lead time, Turns, Days of Supply and non-performing inventory at the Finished Good and Product Family level
  • Communicate Supply Status including Production Forecasts to key stakeholders and external Vendors
  • Work closely with manufacturing partners as well as Asia Planning team to reduce excess of  raw material inventory
  • Work closely with International and Domestic Sales Team to reduce/eliminate excess of FG
  • Monitor and help resolve customer service related issues for assigned products in support of customers, brand manager & Sales parties
  • Resolve shortage situations by proactively managing and monitoring inventory levels for assigned materials and material types
  • Create capacity plans which meet business targets
  • Assess existing capacity and draw up forecasts based on future plans for demand
  • Analyze appropriate information and data in order to understand the demand vs capacity impact
  • Continually work on/improve plans so that the organization can better anticipate customer needs
  • Analyze specifications and capacity to support Production planner in undertaking appropriate calculations to estimate job requirements, in terms of labor, tools, materials and resources
  • Reconcile variances from original plans and maintain a view of actual against forecast projections
  • Support meetings supplying relevant data, provide updates on plans and highlight concerns relating to actual or potential issues
  • Design and maintain capacity performance reports and statistics to share with internal stakeholders and provide information as required in relation to organizational metrics and updates
  • Escalate any issues to Manager or others in the organization particularly when there is risk which could prevent the organization meeting customer demands or where there are capacity concerns

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Skill & Attributes:

  • University Degree and/or College Diploma
  • 5+ years expertise in Operations Planning role; SAP/MRP preferred
  • Prior experience in a Capacity Planning role; Good knowledge of production/manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge and experience of project management
  • Solid understanding of supply chain, inventory activities and capacity environment
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills; Strong numeracy, statistical and reporting skills with the ability to analyze, interpret and manage data and/or information
  • Commercial and financial acumen with a strong understanding of the cost of failure both the production and the ability to fulfill customer orders
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to communicate complex concepts to others
  • Ability to form and maintain good relationships internally and externally; Showing courage &  openness in dealings
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize; Results orientated
  • English and French speaking person (both are must)
  • Willingness to travel
