The Job: 

The primary objective of the Senior Manager of Market Analytics role is to generate and providing business insights and guiding strategic actions driving business critical decisions. S/he will be responsible for developing market projections, oversee & guide global forecasts, interpret and derive critical insights from qualitative and quantitative data to key stakeholders. The role supports the evaluation of Marketing, Trade & Retailer campaigns and their effectiveness leveraging post mortem evaluations and ROI and profitability analysis 

The individual will work on developing predictive analytics including targeting, modeling, segmentation and algorithm development.  The purpose of this role is to lead and develop our ability to add value to our business via the utilization of all available data sources and recommended solutions to business issues through fact based analysis.  The individual will be expected to provide recommendations on the right data sources and tools to provide sound analysis and insights.  Current third-party data consists of information from NPD, EuroMonitor, Walmart (Retail Link), Amazon Vendor Central,, Google Trends/Analytics, other retailer POS etc. 

What we can expect from you: 

  • Provides comprehensive analytic marketing research for markets, products, and customers in support of the strategic and business planning process.
  • Researches, verifies, and organizes complex market trend, competitive intelligence, and sales data
  • Provides market research project design, data collection, analysis and recommendations in support of brand and business performance
  • Regularly create and publishing required analysis and commentary analysis, as well as completing ad hoc reports [Quarterly Earnings Analysis, Annual NPD/Brand Analysis]
  • Monitors critical market developments; synthesizes and communicates market trends and competitive intelligence in order to drive business decisions
  • Leads Market Analysis and forecasting discussions in S&OP & IMR Reviews
  • Provide internal analytical support to groups that leverage analytics data for a variety of purposes
  • Lead data insights & KPI development for all retail and market analysis
  • Creating & leveraging effective data driven solutions to assist management in understanding the business and for accurate decision making
  • Evaluate new tools for the data visualization/BI space
  • Manage and further develop a team of analysts
  • Enhance company’s ability to understand and respond to competition through NPD analytics
  • Coordinate analysis of marketing effort effectiveness with Marketing COE Marketing analytics
  • Work closely with GBU brand teams to support both comprehensive business reviews 2 x per year and respond to ongoing ad hoc requests for analysis.
  • Responsible for NPD relationship and extracting maximum value from the data and the NPD support made available to us

  • 7 - 10 years' experience working with data and utilizing quantitative techniques to solve marketing or business problems, such as campaign analysis, program optimization, customer segmentation and predictive modeling.  (CPG or Retail)
  • Knowledge of the CPG and Retail space along with understanding category management, marketing and product management principles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Finance, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Marketing, or Business
  • Experience with SAP (BI), Retail Link, NPD, EuroMonitor, & statistical modelling software
  • Working knowledge of marketing mathematical tools and methods, marketing test and learn plans, ROI development and data mining/multivariate analysis
  • Ability to conduct regression modelling techniques, projection based analytics and other statistical based methods regarding marketing mix and ROI analysis
  • 3+ years managing other analysts and assigning and evaluating tasks
  • Knowledge and use of data & data visualization tools such as: Tableau, Tibco Spot Fire, SAPBI, SQL.
  • MS Excel expertise – logical functions, lookups, pivot tables, external source data, dynamic charts and tables, editing and writing macros
  • Function autonomously, be a self- directed and self-motivated, dynamic, decisive and confident practitioner with strong analytical skills.
