The Role:

The Director, Media Planning & Partnerships will focus on driving big-idea thinking through highly-effective media tactics, planning, execution, analysis and optimization across multiple media touchpoints (with a strong focus on traditional media and cross-screen brand activations).

He/she will determine the optimal media mix in order to effectively reach our consumer and drive sales results. The successful candidate is a strong representative of our media strategy, has the ability to deliver media plans and provide recommendations and solutions that support our brand objectives and ultimately business growth.

  • Determining the media strategy and optimal channel mix, including planning principles/guidelines across TV, digital, cross-screen, OTT, DRTV etc for over 30 brands annually
  • Drive subject matter expertise by staying current on trends across evolving digital/emerging media channels and related technologies
  • Builds relationships with Sales, Market Analytics, Account Management, Global Business Units and Creative teams and provides guidance on media best practices
  • Staying up to date on media trends, ensuring Spin Master remains at the forefront of change and innovation in the media landscape
  • Agency management; includes pushing for greater engagement, efficiencies, thought leadership, agency evaluations, process & strategy development
  • Participates directly in the presentation of marketing plans and/or in the discussion of media problems with brands, as required
  • Maintaining relationships with key network and media partners (Nickelodeon, Disney, Cartoon Network, Google, Facebook etc...)
  • Providing competitive deep dives and ratings analyses when requested
  • Audience insights analysis – being an expert on Kids’ media, consumption behaviour changes and updates in the media landscape
  • Development and execution of test and learn opportunities with clear and concise objectives and share actionable results
  • Maintains, tracks and keep source of market and media information, including market research, competitive reports and other media financials as required

 

Job Requirements

What we can expect from you:

  • Track record of developing and planning campaigns that extend cross-screen across linear TV, OTT, VOD, YouTube, social, web and mobile etc.
  • Understanding of and past experience using media planning tools as well as digital analytical tools for social listening, ad tracking, website analytics, and app statistics (e.g., Google Analytics, comScore, Kantar etc)
  • Strong background in TV planning, buying, and upfront negotiation
  • Strong relationship builder with track record of best in class partnerships that unlock value for both parties
  • Solid negotiation skills with past success achieving cost savings and added value
  • Extremely strong presentation skills (Both designing presentation decks and presenting)
  • Detail oriented with exceptional organization & problem-solving skills
  • Must be passionate about emerging media trends and technology and be an early adopter of change
  • Strong people manager and developer

 

You should apply if you have the following:

  • University Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related field
  • 8-10+ years experience in media planning and buying, digital marketing and/or advertising including execution and the evaluation of effectiveness of media campaigns that drive strong ROAS.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-pace environment managing multiple brands and internal stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to identity useful insights and make fact-based decisions, recommendations and changes to live in-market media plans
  • Strong managerial experience, including experience developing and mentoring a team
  • Growth mindset and a passion for learning and keeping up with trends at both a macro and micro level (cross screen, media, digital and social media landscapes)
